Hidden Triump in Ethiopia

 Hidden Triump in Ethiopia

Kay Bascom, William Carey Publishing, 2001

Cost: S$18

Kay was burdened to make known the incredible account of "hidden triumphs in Ethiopia" to the outside world. After interviewing over one hundred people, she chose the true-life story of Negussie, a man burdened with a crooked spine from birth, yet who endured great physical suffering and persecution for Christ’s sake, even until death, as representative of that era's triumph

Tread Upon the Lion

 Tread Upon the Lion

Sophie de la Haye, SIM, 1974 (5th Ed 1995)

The Story of Tommie Titcombe –The first missionary to live among the Yagba of Nigeria

Cost: S$10

Twice Tommie Titcombe applied to the Sudan Interior Mission, and twice he was refused. He told the director, Rowland Bingham, that he was going to Africa anyway. Upon being asked what board he was going under, Tommie replied, “I don’t know, Mr. Bingham. It may be some old woman’s wash board, but I’m going to Africa!” Tommie’s spiritual insights and personal courage have made his name a legend among the many Christians of Yagbaland. His story also provides us with an extremely relevant case history of sound missionary principles at work.

 Spiritual Equipping For Mission

Ryan ShawIVP 2014

God calls his people to mission. But the demands of crosscultural ministry can be overwhelming and draining, leading to discouragement and burnout.

All of our strategies and methodologies for reaching others are useless if we are incapable of living the holy, faithful lives God intends for us. Yet God does not leave us on our own.

The Holy Spirit equips us to succeed and thrive spiritually in preparation of becoming God's message bearers in the world.
